ICAST 2018 is over and we are back home. It was a great show again this year. I started off the week
fishing the ICAST Cup on lake Toho. The tournament benefited “Keep America Fishing”. Keep America
Fishing is a grassroots advocacy group for 46 million anglers. They work through policy, science, and
conservation to minimize restriction to waterways, promote clean water, and restore fish populations. I
fished the tournament with FLW pro, Shane Lineberger. We finished the 4 hour derby with a
respectable 24 th place finish with 3 fish for 13.4 pounds.
On Wednesday we started the show at the Orlando Convention Center. ICAST is the worlds largest trade
show, showcasing the latest innovations in fishing gear, accessories, and apparel. This year there were
over 600 exhibitors and attendance was close to 20,000.
I worked with P-Line and Nines Optics this year helping promote the newest products. The most exciting
thing a the P-Line booth this year was the announcement that Tactical Fluorocarbon line will now be
available in 1000 yard spools.
At the Nines Optics booth, there were several new styles of sunglasses introduced. Nines is a relatively
new company in the fishing industry. They are built with superior optics, the strongest materials and
featuring New NIR + Blue light heat shield technology. I don’t think you’ll find a better pair of sunglasses
on the market.
I also was able to stop by another sponsor of mine, Johnson Outdoors, makers of Humminbird and
MinnKota. I got to speak to Jeff Kolodzinski about the new Ultrex trolling motor. It will now be a
available with a built in Mega down imaging transducer.
Also while we were there we welcomed 2 new sponsors aboard, Spike-It and Arachnet. Spike-It has a

your valuables safe.
So there’s a little about what we did at ICAST. Now its back to the water to start preparing for the
