I had planned on spending the week at Lake Hartwell in preparation of the Super Tournament but Hurricane Irma had a different plan. The campground I was staying at finally got power on Wednesday. I made the trip there and got on the lake Thursday morning. There were tons of schooling fish everywhere on the lake. So by Friday I had made the call on what I had planned to do on Saturday. I drew boat number 83 which meant my check in time was 4:15. Went straight to all my spots I had marked and caught three keepers right away. Then the heat came, the wind died, and the fish stopped biting. I made a couple snap decisions that proved to be bad ones, although I did catch my forth fish just before weigh in, for a weight of 5 pounds 15 ounces. That was good for a 88th place finish and finished out the season with an overall 79th place for the year. Not too bad considering I had one bad tournament at Clarks Hill earlier in the year.
Now I’m looking forward to competing in the BFL South Carolina Division Super Tournament on Lake Wylie in 2 weeks. A decent finish there will get me to the Regionals at Lake Lanier.
